The Process
1. It starts with you.. when you first call us we ask
a few basic questions, for example, where your site is, is it residential
or commercial, what your are wanting to do, e.g. new site or refurbishing
an existing landscape, your proposed usage of the site, are the plans
required for Local Government or Covenant approval?, etc.
2. We then arrange a site meeting with you. Here we establish a design
brief based on your requirements, site constraints, budget, likes and
dislikes, proposed site usage e.g children, pets, entertaining, relaxation,
Local Government and/or Covenant requirements. . We will take a few
photo’s of the site and record site elements, and will ask you
to have any pictures from magazines/books/articles that you like, a
list of any plants you like and a copy of the latest scaled plan of
the site and buildings, if you have any.
3. You will then receive a fee proposal outlining our fees and what
you will get for your investment.
4. Once you approve our fees and give your authority to commence we
may re-visit the site to obtain further information e.g. we may have
to measure the site and obtain levels if you don’t have a plan,
or confirm the position of buildings structures and levels on the plan
provided. Then the design process starts.
5. A concept plan is drawn up and presented to you to ensure we are
heading in the right direction. We discuss the design and make any changes
that are necessary to get the result you desire.
6. The concept plan is then developed into a Detailed Landscape Plan
which can be presented to Local Government for Landscape requirements
in Development Applications, to Architectural/ Design Review Committees
for Covenant landscape requirements and/or used by you or a landscaper
to construct your landscape. The added advantage is you can compare
“eggs with eggs”, quotations from landscapers as they are
all quoting on the exact same proposal.
7. The Detailed Landscape Plan includes, but is not limited to, the
following:-
a. An overall site plan showing levels, boundaries, hardscape elements
and surface treatments e.g. water features, retainer walls, fences,
paving and turf, etc;
b. A planting plan showing plant layout, a complete plant schedule with
common and botanical names, estimated mature height and width, suggested
container sizes and quantities;
c. Detailed landscape works notes and detail for constructed elements
such as water features, retainer walls and paving.
